South African Company and provider of innovative fine particle engineering products, 88Chemco recently launched a cutting-edge dust suppressant product designed for quarries and the mines.

DustBinder is a high performance dust suppressant technology for sites experiencing significant dust on haulage roads generated by day-to-day operations.

88Chemco’s Roads and Materials Specialist, Sebastian Karsas says that this product was designed for sites where water alone wouldn’t suffice.

“We identified a gap in the market where haul road dust is a major concern and overwatering of roads is commonplace, leading to a number of issues. Sites are seeking a low-cost but high performance product to replace the need for excessive watering,” he says

“Noncompliance with Section 54 of the MHSA has resulted in costly suspensions in mining operation’s licenses owing to excessive dust from haulage roads. MasterDust suppresses dust up to four times longer than water reducing the risk of such an indictment,” he added

Made up of only environmentally friendly constituents, DustBinder has been specifically designed to be a low cost alternative to mitigating dust emissions while significantly reducing water usage.

“Reducing watering for dust control has a major impact on the survivability of the road and the maintenance required. DustBinder does both improve the road surface and reduce the dust, resulting in direct savings for the operation ” Said Mr Karsas DustBinder is dosed into the Water Cart at an ultra low concentration for immediate use and effect.
